Workplace Support

If you work in Salford, a specialist stop smoking advisor can come out and visit you in your workplace (with the permission of your employer).

You’ll be able to speak confidentially with our trained staff in a one-to-one appointment, or you can join in with a group session if several colleagues want to stop or reduce smoking.

In whatever session you choose, you’ll learn about the benefits of quitting smoking, and explore the different aids that can help you be successful. These include nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and medicines such as Zyban and Champix. We’ll help you see which might be most suitable for you and your needs. We can also use behavioural change approaches and motivational interviewing to help you achieve your goals.

For employers, this dedicated service can help to improve the overall health of every employee, reducing the amount of time staff have on smoking breaks or days off sick. It really helps to boost productivity in the office.

The level of support and advice that has been available to our workforce has been invaluable. Internally we have promoted success stories from people who have successfully quit smoking and this has encouraged others to get involved in the sessions and accept the support available.
